El Sabuco is a four bedroom, spacious villa with swimming pool which boasts magnificent views and a perfect location. Situated in a commanding position in the peaceful village of Carataunas, the house is only a few minutes drive from the popular Alpujarran villages of Pampaniera, Bubion and Capiliera.
The house itself accommodates up to eight people in two double en-suite bedrooms and two twin bedrooms. There is a large living room with dining area, and Sky television and a DVD player. The kitchen is fully equiped with oven, hob, dishwasher and microwave and is attached to the living space so the cook need never feel lonely. Outside there are two generously sized terraces, a BBQ area, and a 7 by 4 metre private swimming pool from where one can see down the valley towards the coast, with the sea being visible in the distance. At the rear of the house there is private gated parking for up to 4 cars.
For those guests looking to experience a little Spanish culture and scenery, typical activities and excursions include a trek to the top of Mulhacen, mainland Spain's highest mountain, a visit to the colourful weekly market in nearby Orgiva, a day trip to the magnificent Alhambra palace in Granada, walks in the extensive Natural Park of the Sierra Nevada, or a day at the beach in one of the nearby Costa Tropical resorts. For the less energetic it is only a 400 metre walk to the nearby bar, where traditional Andalucian tapas and meals are available.
The nearest airport to the house is Granada at just over an hour away from where there are regular flights to Stansted ( Ryanair ), Gatwick ( Monarch Airlines ), Liverpool ( Ryanair ) and East Midlands ( Ryanair ). Almería airport is a 2 hour drive and offers budget flights to Stansted, Gatwick, Birmingham International, Luton and Manchester. Car hire options at both Granada and Almería are cheap and plentiful.
The weather in July and August is almost guaranteed to be sunny and hot every single day, so El Sabuco is the perfect place to relax for a week or two and enjoy the slower pace of life of sunny Southern Spain.
