Grants for solar power

Are there still grants available for solar power installations ? Where can I find more information ?

Strangly enough was reading an article on this very subject on the BBC or Times website.

Said that Spain was going for more solar power and that ever new villa, and development in the near future was going to have to instal them. So it is very hot news at the moment and there are grants available.

Have read that you go to local government, maybe townhall? But just in case found you this article that said grants change all the time and it suggests that you first of all visit Eco-Idae as the schemes change every year, then visit your local scheme, such as Aven for valencia, or Prosol for Andalucia

New grants will be available for 2006.

The legislation regarding which adminstrative body will be in charge of grants is chaging and everything will be under the Junta de Andalucia.

The best way to find out what grants are available is to ask any company offering you solar pannels or the like services. It is in their advantage to have such info, but make sure we talk to several companies, as not all are equally effciente or will give you the whole picture. It is a good idea to check the gov Body in charge of grants, which is PROSOL

There are several types of grants and low-interest credits covering around 40-60 % of the cost, but bear in mind the application is long and burdensome due to burocracy. So arm yourself with pacience :-)
