Hi Everyone, Just got back from Spain and been to El Golco to check on how things are going. Some good news and some bad. The good news!. They are working on apartments 60-90 slowly, we were there for a week and only saw 2 men working at any time, but they are coming along towards being finished in the not too distant future. There is a JCB on site digging holes for the water and electric pipes. We have been told that the water and electric should be connected in the next 2 weeks.. but hey this is Spain... to the lower apartments. The swimming pool is in the ground. The bad news!. Apartments 1-60 still have not had anything much done to them our apartment has had nothing done at all for the last 18mnths and this week was no different. one or two of the apartments have had windows fitted but the walls have not been finished around them and one or two have been plastered but thats about all. We have taken lots of photos so if anyone would like copies of them to look at we can send them over the email if you ask. My email address

Cant understand whats going on now on this forum , i am beginning to wonder if its now a deliberate attempt to upset and worry people ??
Just got back this morning , and have been to Golco since Sat 7th till the 10th , On the monday and tuesday there were at least a dozen men working all day long , if not more inside these appts being finished . There were 4 just working outside my appt , laying electric cables , and building manholes , so lots going on . As far as i am aware there have been plenty of work going on since August , and this is from many people who have visited recently .
Will be interested to see any pics that people have taken , and i will forward some that i have taken , Are we all talking about the same Golco , as Alan Suger is talking about snow ?? Dont know what all thats about ??

Don't be too upset & worried Mike, just havin' a laugh.
Try it sometime its, very theraputic and is known to relieve the symptoms of obsessive behavior.
So you admit it was just to bait me and possibly others ?
No probs !!
Hi everyone, hears something you might find helpfull when your apartment is nearing completion, the agent/lawyer will contact you to arrange an inspection. you will arrive and inspect the property as best you can. Often, the agent and a couple of builders will be peering over your shoulder and your comments may be accompanied with sharp intakes of breath, head shaking and shrugging of shoulders.
You will then be presented with a snag list in spanish and asked to sign it. You may not understand it properly, and the agent may tell you all is in order and the things you have pointed out will be fixed. You may then discover you are booked into the notary to complete the purchase of the property that afternoon or the next day. This leaves no time for any of the snags to have been rectified before you complete. But don't dispair there is help out there there is a company called WWW.INSPECTAHOMESPAIN.COM i haven't contacted them myself as yet but i will do closer to completion, i would strongley advise eveyone not to hand over any more money untill everything is to your satisfaction and belive me some of these snags can take months to put right,How do i know all this you might ask? Well the answer simple iv'e been through it all before at home and abroad after all would you pay for a brand new car with the door trims missing of course not so why pay for a property costing a hell of a lot more
regards to you all

Jim,
Excellent info and just the sort of advice this forum is very assistive with. At last the real issues with El Golco appear in-hand and I never thought we'd be looking and talking about completions.
Peter & Ann. the excellent photos you sent are great - is the swimming pool shot on the site or near by?
Cheers,
Blighty
