Malaga to Ugijar

It's a fair old way ( Ugijar is considerably closer to Almeria airport ) but I would follow the N340 all the way along the coast, past Motril, and then turn inland onto the A345 to Albuñol. Follow the signs for Cadiar, and then take a right hand turn when you see a sign for Murtas. After you pass through Murtas follow the road through to Ugijar. For speed the trick in the Alpujarras is to spend as much time on the main roads - once you hit the mountains you will be lucky to drive above 40KMs/hr.

Probably take about 3 to 3 1/2 hours depending on traffic.
