I know it is an old thread. Did anyone go to this ? I have lemon/ orange nispero /plum/ fig and peach the last two are new as in only planted 2 years ago and are probably about 4 yrs old. Fruit on both last year was delicious. I know nothing about when is the right time to prune any on them.

Hi Mountain Lover, the best time to prune all of your trees is winter over here, between the harvesting time of Summer/Autumn and the start of new growth and blossom in Spring. Prune out any new growth that is crowding the centre of the tree, and any old wood (in the case of your older trees) that is starting to look short of nutrients.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply, phew I did my oranges and nispero not so long ago and the plum was done back in Jan this year it seems no worse for it. The fruit is appearing now. My new trees are to be fanned on the wall and kept to wall height approx. That will be a challenge to get right !

I was quite baffled by the idea of "summer pruning". I would agree with CadiarCR.
